The new OnePlus 15 is here and it looks like a serious contender in the flagship smartphone world. From its power-packed internals to its sleek design, there’s a lot to like. In this review I’ll break down what stands out, what you should care about, and whether it’s worth your attention.

Design & Display
OnePlus appears to have gone all in on the visuals and feel. The OnePlus 15 features a 6.78-inch LTPO display with 1.5K resolution and a stunning 165Hz refresh rate. What this means is smoother motion, better responsiveness, and a display experience built for high refresh gaming or ultra-fluid UI. Add to that high peak brightness (e.g., 1,800 nits claimed) for visibility in bright light. On the outside you’ll also find new material finishes and design tweaks — including a “Sand Storm” colour variant with enhanced durability built in.

Performance & Power
Under the hood the OnePlus 15 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite (or Elite Gen 5) chipset, positioning it among the very top Android performers. The phone is rumoured to include up to 16 GB (or higher) of RAM in some variants and massive storage options. OnePlus also seems to have improved thermal management and sustained performance — useful for gamers or heavy multitaskers.

Battery wise, this phone aims high: leaks suggest a 7,000 mAh+ battery (some say 7,300 mAh) and fast charging (100 W+ wired, as well as wireless support) in some markets. Digit+1 That’s huge for a flagship, and means you may get better longevity than most high-end phones.

Camera & Imaging
On the imaging front, OnePlus has made bold moves. The OnePlus 15 reportedly comes with a triple camera setup around 50MP for main, ultra-wide, and telephoto lenses. Notably, the company appears to have shifted away from its long-time partnership branding (Hasselblad) and is using its own “DetailMax” or “DigitalMax” image engine. The telephoto lens is tipped to offer around 3x optical zoom in some leaks. This all adds up to a camera system that’s competitive and likely improved over previous OnePlus flagships.

What’s Good

  • Smooth, high refresh display — massive upgrade in fluidity and responsiveness.
  • Top-tier performance hardware — for gaming, productivity, future-proofing.
  • Big battery + fast charging — less worry about running out of juice.
  • Strong camera package and new imaging engine — promising for mobile photographers.
  • Design that feels premium and durable — not just looks but material build.

What to Consider

  • Price will likely be premium. Some leaks suggest starting around ~₹50,000 in China for base variant, but global pricing will differ.
  • Many of the specs are still leaks and not yet independently verified. So some features may change in final version.
  • For casual users who don’t need ultra-high refresh or extreme performance, this might be overkill.
  • Availability in India/global markets and whether they carry all the same features (battery size, charging speed, camera specs) remains to be seen.

My Verdict
If you are someone who uses your phone heavily — gaming, content creation, multitasking, or you simply want one of the best Android experiences available — the OnePlus 15 is shaping up to be a very strong choice. It ticks almost all the boxes for a modern flagship: display, performance, battery, camera, and build quality.

If you’re more of a moderate user — calls, social media, basic apps — then you might want to compare with slightly less expensive flagships from this year or last. The difference in daily experience may not feel massive if you don’t use the high refresh rate or high-end camera zooms.

In summary: The OnePlus 15 is wired to impress. It’s a high-ambition phone from OnePlus, marking a meaningful leap from previous models. Keep an eye on pricing and regional specs, and if they align well in your market, this could be one of the best choices for a flagship in 2025.
